ISRAEL GOYTOM — FOUNDER AND CEO, SYNHEART

SHORT BIO
Israel founded Synheart in late 2025 on a single conviction: that software understanding human state is an infrastructure problem, not a product problem.

FULL BIO
Israel founded Synheart in late 2025 as a research lab built like a startup. His team of ten-plus engineers and researchers builds on-device infrastructure that reads focus, stress and recovery from physiological and behavioral signals. Raw data never leaves the device. He designs the system architecture, and he writes and reviews code.

His early research taught neural networks to find and sort 3D microstructures in microscope images, and he holds two patents for microscopy devices. At Mila, Yoshua Bengio’s lab in Montreal, he worked with Kris Sankaran on AI for humanitarian problems. One project forecast extreme heat and rain. Another, HighRes-net, fuses many low-resolution satellite images into one sharper one. It won silver in the European Space Agency’s super-resolution challenge.

In 2020 he co-founded Chapa, an Ethiopian payment gateway. As CTO he designed its payments, payouts, fraud detection and ledgers. Those systems now handle millions of transactions a year for tens of thousands of merchants.

QUOTE
“Modern systems understand what users do, but not how users function. We kept building features on top of that blind spot instead of fixing it. Synheart is what happens when you fix it first.”
— Israel Goytom, Founder and CEO, Synheart
